NEA Jazz in the Schools

An initiative of the National Endowment of the Arts, the Jazz in the Schools curriculum was produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center to help high-school teachers of social studies, history and music incorporate an exploration of jazz as an indigenous American art form and as a means to understand American history.

Consisting of web-based materials, a printed booklet, CD’s, a DVD and a timeline poster outlining the history of Jazz, the core design theme of the toolkit was inspired by the main logo graphic created by Ivan Chermayeff.

The NEA Jazz in the Schools website has just been selected as an Official Honoree at the 2009 Webby Awards.

Agnieszka and her team at Kiss Me I’m Polish are a joy to work with—immensely creative, collaborative and communicative. We consider them a partner in all of our projects together and value their contributions to both design and content. The results are beautiful, engaging and smartly designed.”
