BILL AND MELINDA GATES

While partnering with GOOD and the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation on an extensive series of information graphics, Kiss Me I’m Polish was also asked to create a special suite of informational animations for a public presentation Bill and Melinda were giving in London. The presentation focused on the benefits of Foreign Aid in breaking the cycle of poverty and marked the launch of Living Proof – a campaign showcasing the incredible progress being achieved by people in developing countries.

Using our animated slides as the backdrop, the Gates’ talked about what motivated them to join the fight against extreme poverty while providing proof on how smart aid has achieved real, demonstrated results. The event was broadcast live via webcast, and is now available for viewing here.

GOOD + Gates Foundation infographics

As part of the on-going partnership between GOOD and the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation, we designed a series of colorful infographics to illustrate key findings of the recent nationwide study: Primary Sources: America’s Teachers on America’s Schools.

Thanks to some great visual references provided by a dear friend who teaches at a NYC Middle School, these were probably some of the most visually playful infographics we’ve had a chance to work on.

Check them out in our full case study.

Essentials of Sociology is now available

We are thrilled to announce that the latest edition of WW Norton’s Essentials of Sociology textbook features 7 full-page infographics designed by Kiss Me I’m Polish. Ranging from topics such as incarceration rates to gender empowerment, to social inequality in the U.S., the infographics are all tied together by a shared visual language, yet each design aims to tell the story of the data from a unique perspective.

Stay tuned for more highlights of our on-going work with WW Norton.

MoMA: Modern Women

Every once in a while a project comes along that strikes such a chord, you cannot possibly imagine not working on it. Modern Women was one of those projects.

Not even a temperamental volcano could keep us apart – stranded in London during the design phase of the project, KMIP’s Agnieszka Gasparska kept it going via Skype and email from a friend’s canal boat. ;-)

We are honored to have had the opportunity to design the website for this groundbreaking book that looks at the diverse practices and contributions of women artists throughout the course of the MoMA’s history. From the MoMA’s founding by three pioneering women in 1929 to the diverse practices and contributions of modern and contemporary women artists, the history of women at MoMA is inextricable from the history of the institution.

The website celebrates all of that history while also highlighting related events and exhibitions, starting with the symposium that marked the launch of the book and the website -Art Institutions and Feminist Politics Now.

Area/Code

Who doesn’t love to play games? We certainly do. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our latest project – the new Area/Code website designed by KMIP.

Since they’re inception in early 2005, Area/Code has been taking advantage of all available technologies and social media to create new kinds of game play. Games can be played on the web, phone, or in the real life, but what sets them apart is that they work to highlight the connections between the interactive and imaginary systems inside of games with the real world.
