AIGA’s toolkit wins Publisher’s Choice!

Our AIGA Membership toolkit was selected for Association TRENDS’ coveted Publisher’s Choice award!

The following statement from one of the judges was announced during the ceremony:

“This organization relies on its chapters to serve as ambassadors and to be in the know in order to recruit new members. Their toolkit has accomplished this feat by creating a clear, concise, functional and fun marketing tool to grow membership through the chapters. The toolkit deploys the key information to ensure chapters, members, and key target audiences know the value of the association and its membership. The presentation is easy to read and understand, the design is exceptional because it combines valuable and specific information in a fun and exciting manner. The toolkit is a well thought out piece with strong writing and content presented consistently and effectively.”

AIGA Membership Campaign wins GOLD!

We have some serious celebrating to do around here! It is our pleasure to announce that as this incredibly fruitful year draws to a close, Santa has sent us a BIG award!

The AIGA Membership Toolkit we finally unveiled late this summer has received GOLD in the ”Membership Promotion Kit or Campaign” category of this year’s Association Trend’s All Media Competition!!! Serving the professional association landscape for over 36 years,  the annual TRENDS competition celebrates “the brightest stars of the association community and their commitment to excellence.” We are beyond honored to receive this recognition! And what’s even sweeter, is that second place went to the American Bar Association, third to the Texas Medical Association. Take THAT doctor’s and lawyer’s! It’s a great day for graphic design. ;-)

AIGA Justified Competition

We are thrilled and honored to announce that Five Borough Farm has been selected for the AIGA Justified competition! AIGA’s Justified competition recognizes case studies that demonstrate the value of design in a clear, compelling, and accessible way.

AIGA built this competition around the case study format, rather than one built around the selection of artifacts, to offer a more effective means of revealing how designers have approached clients’ problems. With that in mind, the 2013 Justified competition honors 14 projects that successfully demonstrate the value of design.

In the juror comments, Five Borough Farm was praised for being not only beautiful and cleanly designed, but accessible, motivating, informative, and easy to digest. Check out the full case study and all the juror comments.

Five Borough Farm Design Fellowship

We are delighted to announce that Design Trust for Public Space has selected KMIP’s Agnieszka Gasparska as the Graphic Design Fellow for Five Borough Farm. This project will survey and map New York City’s existing urban agricultural activity and work with a community of farmers, advocates, and experts to create a comprehensive, city-wide plan for urban agriculture.

Kiss Me I’m Polish will develop the project identity, create infographics that illustrate urban agriculture’s many impacts on and connections to local and regional communities, and design the final project publication that will launch at the end of this year.

25th Annual New York Book Show

We are honored to announce that the third edition of WW Norton’s Essentials of Sociology textbook took first place at last night’s 25th Annual New York Book Show! Kiss Me I’m Polish developed a series of 7 information graphics as part of this – our first – collaboration with the publishing house. Seems the judges were impressed with the whole package! A sincere congrats to everyone involved!

Print’s New Visual Artists Review

For 10 years, PRINT Magazine has featured an annual issue called the New Visual Artists Review, introducing and profiling 20 of the most promising rising talents in graphic design, advertising, illustration, digital media, photography, and animation—all under the age of 30. Agnieszka Gasparska was selected as a winner in 2005.
